The Antidepressant Effects Of Stand Up Comedy

Author: jamesluis007

We all know that when we frown, it takes way more energy and we end up feeling a lot worse off. But sometimes we can’t help it. Life can get us down from time to time. So what can we do about it? Sometimes it takes an extraordinary effort to pull others out of low mood, but however bad you think you’ve got it, there are people out there who are exceptionally good at bringing out the inner happiness in people: stand up comedians.

“Just watch what happens to an average audience in front of a stand up comedy performance - even the most depressed people you know are helpless against the skilled delivery of a true professional comedian.” explains laughter expert Frank Stadford. Stadford says a simple boost of laughter from a good joke makes us feel awesome, releases endorphins, giving us lasting pleasure and of course, happy memories to share. He adds “There’s simply no time to feel low when a good joke hits you square in the face.”

Naturally, we can't all afford to live in a comedy hall all our lives…so surely there must be a way to have access this instant and natural joy, wherever we are?
What if there was a place you could go to that had an almost endless supply of stand up comedy? Just imagine for a second, if you could select and watch only the best comic performances? instead of just your well-known favorites?

In the world today, there are fantastic comedians who play to every country under the sun every single week, but quite often, we don't see or hear about them in our local area and so they seem unknown to us. We are definitely missing out on some real talent, purely because we can’t be everywhere at once!

But what if you could browse all the world's comedians and learn about new talent from videos of the finest stand up comedy monologues on the planet? You could study comics and what makes them tick, improve your own speaking or stand up routines - or just learn a couple of jokes to impress your friends with. That special someone you are after who admires confidence and humor won’t be able to resist your comedy charms.

“Comedians often have a lot of self-confidence they have built up on stage and this can be learned (or faked!) by trying out a few routines yourself. You will be surprised at the results.” says Stadford.
This imaginary place, packed full of comedy videos does indeed exist now, thanks to come rather clever coders. All you need is a mouse, a browser and a brain - but beware: I can't be held responsible if you die from laughing too much by visiting this place too often.

Happier people live longer, happier lives, and even just a daily fix of stand up comedy videos can help you improve your overall mood in the long term. Think of comedy as a natural antidepressant, with no side effects. And you can up your dosage any time you feel like it!

So don't spend this recession down in the dumps - after all, laughter is and always should be free.
